Susan Gasman has worked as a Trainer, Curriculum Developer and Training Skills Developer with the Center since September, 2004. She received a BS in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a MA in Art Therapy/Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Susan has worked with families, their children and youth within medical, residential, educational, and therapeutic counseling organizations and for a restorative justice program within Raleigh’s Juvenile Court/Teen Court programs. She was a facilitator in Washington State within a community partnership and The Department of Children and Family Services.
Her future goals include continuing to work towards the inclusion of the family's voice and wishes within their distinctive family-centered meeting and plan, and with encouraging the many organizations of North Carolina to utilize the CFT model within their work with families. Susan special interests surround CFT meetings as a way to prepare and build plans with foster care youth moving towards independent living, facilitation, and the Center's Facilitator Forums. |
