Marianne Latz is a trainer for the Center for Family and Community Engagement where she has worked since May 2006. She teaches about Child and Family Teams for the Department of Social Services. She has also trained school employees and assisted schools in implementing Child and Family Teams. She is co-leader of the Central Facilitator Forum, which is held quarterly as a means to help facilitators from across the state network with each other and learn together. In addition, she has contributed to the writing and revision of curricula. She has conducted evaluation on the inclusion of Family Partner Trainers in Child and Family Team trainer partnerships, evaluated Child and Family Team meetings, and evaluated Child and Family Team training. Marianne received a Masters degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Marianne's future goals within the Center are to train people from multiple systems in child and family teams, thus promoting more family-centered practices within and across agencies. She wants to assist agencies in the use of cross-system collaboration in the implementation of Child and Family Teams. Marianne has a strong interest in social work that engenders empowerment and the development of both informal and formal supports for clients and their families using a strengths-based approach.
